CarMount™ works with cases. If you use a regular thin case you can install the metal plate inside the case. If you use a thick heavy duty case, you would need to install the metal plate outside the case. Test it first before applying the metal plate.
CarMount™ can hold any ipad while parked. But for driving we suggest using 2 mounts per tablet. Check our full tablet installation tutorial here.
We don’t use regular 3M tape like most of our competitors do.
We have our own special blend nano glue that is more weather resistance and actually sticks better in higher temperatures.
We have tested CarMount™ in 100°F (140°F inside the car) all round the summer without any hints about CarMount’s nano glue failing.
CarMount™ will work with an iPhone 12 but not with Apple’s MagSafe magnets. Theres a reason for that. MagSafe magnets are weak and designed poorly so that in order for our mount to work with MagSafe it would need to be 3-4 times bigger and loosing its purpose as a small, elegant & strong car mount.
If you are someone who prefers a minimal look & stronger mounting than MagSafe mounts, then you are in the right place.
CarMount™ works with wireless charging but it’s important that you stick the metal plate at the bottom, horizontally. So that the metal plate won’t interfere with the wireless charging that is positioned in the middle of your phone.
It is recommended that you stick the metal plate outside the case that way, unless you have a really thin case. Test it first before applying the metal plate.

A short answer is, no.
The idea stems from old gadgets like televisions, when much of the data was stored magnetically, using tiny bits of iron.
However, with all the latest technological advancements, the truth is magnets won’t interfere with your smartphone at all. In reality smartphones also have magnets in them.
Removing CarMount™ from your dashboard is easy, takes approx 1-2 minutes. You would need to remove it really slowly, in a steep angle.
There will be no residue left behind and you can stick the mount again after you have washed and dried the sticky part.
No it won’t.
